Wireless systems offer a unique mixture of connectivity, flexibility, and freedom. It is therefore not surprising that wireless technology is being embraced with increasing vigor. The objective of the AGILENet project is to bring together the complementary expertise of European and two third-country partners in order to lay the foundations for addressing basic issues in several facets of wireless.
The defining characteristic of contemporary and future wireless communications technologies is their dynamic and heterogeneous nature. The user traffic flowing on the network has different Quality of Service (QoS) requirements and varies temporally and geographically. The nodes of the network have different capabilities and access rights. The qualities of the wireless links also vary dynamically. AGILENet project aims to develop new agile networking protocols adapting to highly dynamic conditions observed in wireless networks.
